Anyone on free or reduced lunch in Hamilton County Schools is now eligible for no-cost home internet. Hamilton County Schools has joined with EPB of Chattanooga and other community partners — like Tech Goes Home and The Enterprise Center — to offer HCS EdConnect. This service will provide internet services to about 28,500 economically challenged students in Hamilton County School, at no charge to their families. 

How can my family sign up? 

In order to receive service, eligible families must opt-in to HCS EdConnect. There are three ways you can opt in:

1. E-mail surveys have been sent to all eligible families.
   
2. Text messages will be sent to all eligible families who have not responded to the e-mail survey, beginning August 17th.
   
3. Finally, for those who do not respond to either e-mail or text, schools will reach out directly beginning at the end of August.
   

In order to receive these opt-in e-mails and texts, your information in PowerSchool must be up to date. 
After submitting your opt-in survey, please wait 24 hours before contacting the EPB cal center at (423) 648-1372 to schedule service. 
EPB will provide internet to all students who qualify for HCS EdConnect within their service area. Although some homes may be more difficult to serve, they are committed to providing access to all. It will take several months to complete the installation process for the whole school district, and their team is working diligently to serve as many families as quickly as possible.
